Since the Anacortes Salmon Derby’s inception six years ago, we have struggled to maintain the cost per ticket at $50.00 per angler. Unfortunately, times being what they are ...  we have decided to raise the price of a ticket to $60.00.  With cash donations at an all-time low; as food, tent rental, and other costs rise; the only way to adequately fund scholarships is to increase revenue is through ticket sales (the total number of tickets available to the public will not change, and is capped at 1,000).

Even with this increase, we believe our offering of: a free Friday night fishing seminar; free boat launching and retrieval at Cap Sante; three nights free moorage at the marina; Saturday night no-host social with chili;  complimentary BBQ on Sunday;  and $25,000 in cash prizes as well as thousands of dollars in merchandise, is a real bargain.  In addition to door prizes both nights, we have awarded prizes for fish caught to 90^th place. 

Please remember, the Derby is staffed by volunteers only, and no one receives any compensation for their efforts.  All net proceeds go to the scholarship fund.  To date, we have provided $127,028 in scholarships and grants to students pursuing careers in fishery management and related fields.
